My senior year of high school, I decided that whatever university I attended would not be a school that my siblings attended. I wanted my own path. Therefore, I chose a different university to begin my undergraduate experience. My freshman year consisted of me transferring twice until I found my home at CCU my sophomore year. I saw the impact it had on my sister and I wanted the same experience, if not better, at Coastal.
The moment I stepped foot on campus I knew I had found my home. I was greeted with teal. I joined my first organization under the Department of Music and I started making my own carbon footprint here. Whether I’m playing in a concert, guiding residents, or leading perspective students and their families around campus, I am enjoying every moment.

Favorite Southern food: Anything between fried chicken to my favorite dish of shrimp and grits.
Motivating factor in life: On the first day of one of my very first computer science programming courses, I walked in a room mainly composed of males. As I sit down, one guy looked at me and asked me if I was sure I was in the right class. This has drove me stay the course in my STEM field. When things get hard, in any of my classes, I ponder on this moment and remember that I can do anything I put my mind to and I press forward towards the finish line.
