I chose to come to Coastal because I wanted a home away from home. I wanted a fresh start, in a new place, where I didn’t know anyone so I could create my own identity. Since arriving at Coastal in Fall 2017, I have changed in more ways than I ever thought possible. I am growing into a better version of myself every day and this is because of the people I have surrounded myself with. Being a tour guide at the University has given me the opportunity to meet so many new people and improve my leadership skills. Because I care so much about our school and what we stand for, being a tour guide doesn’t even seem like a job. After all, talking to people about why I love my school is one of my passions.
I am also in the Chi Omega Fraternity on campus which has given me the chance to meet unique girls and participate in philanthropy causes that I am passionate about. Everyone that I associate myself with at CCU believes in who I am and what I am capable of. The people at Coastal push me to be a better version of myself every day and that is what I was looking for from a University. My experience here has opened me up to so many incredible opportunities that I don’t think I would have received at another University. For that, I am grateful to be a Chanticleer.
