Kaylea Gassaway

It is amazing how humble our students are, especially the ones who have built impressive academic resumes during their time at Coastal. Kaylea Gassaway is a business management senior who is part of the prestigious Wall Fellows program. She has successfully navigated the rigorous and challenging path that membership within the Wall Fellows brings, utilizing her own drive and intelligence to prosper. However, in her humble nature, she rather shine the light on the CCU faculty.

“They aren’t just faculty that in stand in front of you and lecture,” Kaylea begins as she describes how her professors have helped shape her. “But they speak life into you and talk to you about what you are good at.”

Lauding the fact that most of her professors have enjoyed extensive careers in their field before teaching in the classroom, Kaylea has a true respect for the CCU faculty. But as we mentioned, she didn’t arrive to this point solely because of her mentors. Rather, Kaylea is on the verge of graduating with a promising future ahead of her because of the work and time she has put in since arriving on campus. She is part of academic, spiritual and community groups, going above and beyond to reach her potential while helping others out.

When you ask Kaylea to reflect on her time at CCU, she has a tough time ranking her many highlights.

“Every moment I have had here,” Kaylea responds when asked about her favorite moment at CCU before adding, “Because they have all helped shape who I am and who I am becoming.”

Upon graduation, Kaylea would like to complete an internship in Norway and then earn her MBA. After that, you can bet that Kaylea will find herself in a successful career making a big impact
