Lexi's Video

A standout high school volleyball player in her home state of Iowa, Lexi Flynn came to Coastal Carolina after Jozsef Forman recruited her to play for the Chants. Lexi saw plenty of playing time her first two seasons while enjoying the success the volleyball team achieved both those years. However, an injury put a premature end to her collegiate volleyball career.

In the case of Lexi, the silver lining of a talented student-athlete losing two years of promising eligibility turned out to be this: she has had the opportunity to spend more time on her other numerous pursuits.

A junior exercise sports science student, Lexi does so much that it makes you wonder how she was even able to play volleyball in the first place. Ask her about some of her best moments at Coastal and she will point directly at her sorority, Gamma Phi Beta. She glowingly talks about her “sorority family” and the place her sisters hold in her heart. She is a member of a few different honor societies, a strong indication of her academic commitment. She works on campus in Arcadia Hall, the building that houses Coastal’s athletic department administrators. Off campus she is working as well, holding down a job at lululemon.

Lexi is fun, motivated and outgoing as she doesn’t call herself “adventuresome” for nothing. We are talking about a girl who will drop everything on a whim to embark on a 10-hour road trip or who isn’t afraid to randomly start learning how to play the ukulele. But as much as she enjoys traveling, going to concerts and trying new things, Lexi doesn’t express the desire to spend a year touring Europe or backpacking across Peru upon graduation. Rather, she wants to attend graduate school. Although undecided on the specific degree she wants to pursue, you can count on the fact that she will choose something that compliments her exercise sports science background and allows her to be the spontaneous and vibrant Lexi that the Coastal community has grown to love.
