I was doing a lot of different visits with a lot of different schools for volleyball reasons and when I came on campus for the first time it was awesome.  After going deeper into the recruiting process and looking at other schools, this place just felt so homey and welcoming. I love everything the University gives, whether it be academic or athletic. The volleyball program is awesome along with the school in general.

Lina plays volleyball for #CCU

Meet Lina

Favorite professor: Jeremy Griffin – He goes in depth with the material and fosters great discussion within our class.

Favorite class: It is a tie between English and public health!

Campus Involvement (organizations, activities, etc.): Just volleyball for the moment. But I hope to get involved with Relay for Life next semester. Back home I was really involved with pediatric cancer organizations and I really want to get involved in the same way here.

Favorite trait of #CCU: The homey feeling! It is beautiful here, the people are welcoming, and there is a lot to do.

Favorite Netflix series: Friends

Favorite charitable cause: Penn State’s THON. I was really involved with it at home. If you aren’t familiar with it, it is a really huge student-run philanthropy that focuses on pediatric cancer.. My high school was really involved with it and I developed a passion for it.

Item you would bring to a deserted island: Wilson (from “Cast Away”)

Dream job: To be the head of a department or the CEO or COO of a hospital.

Motivating factor in life: I am motivated because of my brother. He was a high level athlete recruited by a lot of Division I colleges. However, he had three ACL tears and suffered significant hearing loss to the point that he is nearly deaf when he is not wearing his hearing aids.  His senior year of high school he wrestled with a torn ACL and won districts and made a run at the state tournament. He left an impact on the community and I feel I have to live up to that legacy as a Perugini. He just motivates me to keep going.
