Hello! My name is Natalie Dougherty. I am a junior hospitality, resort and tourism management major with a minor in women’s and gender studies. I am originally from Silt, a very small town in western Colorado, but currently reside in Hilton Head Island, S.C. Coming from a small town, I really wanted to branch out and experience something different. I started my college applications and decided to apply to colleges all over the United States. During my search I came across Coastal Carolina and immediately fell in love. Looking back on the time I have spent here, I genuinely could not imagine getting my degree anywhere else. I have met some of the best people in my life and have made memories that will last a lifetime. I am very thankful for all of the connections that Coastal Carolina has and continues to provide for me.

The best decision I could have made since coming to CCU is joining the club A Moment of Magic. AMOM is the original 501©3 non-profit organization that brings creative programming to medically vulnerable children. Our most popular service is character visits where we dress up as princesses, superheroes, fairies, etc. and go on hospital visits, home visits, skype calls and so much more! I have moved my way up in the organization and am now the chapter president here at Coastal. This organization has changed my life for the better in more ways than I can count. It has brought a new purpose to the reason I work so hard and the joy I feel from the impact made on those we interact with is indescribable.

Natalie is from Silt, Colo.
