A crucial part of college is finding something that reminds you of home. Well, CCU became my home when I engaged myself in the CCU community. I chose to remain at Coastal because I really enjoy having small class sizes and professors who know my name! Also, CCU encourages and allows students to be themselves.
As a first-generation college student, having the support of family, professors, and faculty/staff helped me overcome personal obstacles in my way. Freshman year, I struggled with adjusting to the social aspect of college. After joining student organizations, volunteering and having conversations with faculty members, I started to feel part of the CCU community. My journey here at CCU has been a memorable experience. Not only will I leave with a degree, but I also found my voice. I am thankful for everyone who has pushed me beyond my comfort zone. I have been able to grow and become the woman I am today.
