Coastal names new director of Health Services

Caesar Ross has been appointed Coastal Carolina University's first director of Student Health Services, effective July 10.

As director, Ross will oversee all the university's health service operations. His duties will include supervising a nurse practitioner, a part-time doctor and additional support personnel. Student Health Services provides primary health care services for all students living in university residence halls and is optional for students living off campus. The university provides its students with quality medical care with an emphasis on healthy lifestyles and wellness. Health information and medical referral services are available to all students.

Ross has 13 years experience in health administration and professional experience. Currently, he serves as the director of Student Health Services at UNC-Wilmington. He earned a bachelor's degree in social work from the University of West Florida and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Central Florida. He is a doctoral student at Florida International University. Prior to taking the position at UNC-Wilmington, he served as assistant director and business manager at Florida International University. He has also worked for the Florida Department of Health, the University of Central Florida, the Georgia Department of Human Resources, and the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
