Atlantic Stage Theatre presents "Lend Me a Tenor"

March 19, 2013

Atlantic Stage, the only nonprofit professional theatre in Myrtle Beach, brings Ken Ludwig's uproariously hilarious farce "Lend Me a Tenor" to Coastal Carolina University's 79th Avenue Theatre from Thursday, March 21, to Sunday- April 7.

The play takes place in Ohio, 1934. The Cleveland Grand Opera Company is set for a one-night only command performance of 'Otello' with the world's greatest tenor, Tito Morelli. The star arrives desperately late, however, with his ego and jealous wife in tow. A double dose of tranquilizers, an over-sexed soprano and a mistaken suicide note add up to complete chaos.

Directed by company member Steve Earnest, "Lend Me a Tenor" stars Billy Sharpe as Max, Hunter Boyle as Tito, Kristin Shirilla as Maggie, Chuck Stokes as Saunders, Janine Cunningham as Maria, Taylor Wright as the bellhop, Anna Sheridan as Diana and Dianne DeVaughn Stokes as Julia. Set design is by Dawn Drake Toney, light design is by J. Stephen Toney, sound design is by Mindi Blackburn Penn, and costume design is by Charles Armstrong.

"Lend Me a Tenor" show dates and times are as follows:
