Coastal Carolina University's Spadoni College of Education is now accepting applications for fall enrollment in the Early Childhood Development and Literacy Center on campus.

Up to 120 children between the ages of 3 and 5 will be accepted into the center, and there are enrollment options for school day, after school or the full day.

The center will be located inside Kingston Hall, and will include five literacy rooms, four classrooms and an outdoor playground. Four full-time instructors will be hired for the classrooms, and students in CCU's elementary and early childhood education programs will be able to gain hands-on clinical experiences through the program.

Edward Jadallah, dean of the College of Education, says child development is closely connected to literacy education, and the establishment of a center that serves both these areas is benefits the community.

Limited space is available, and students will be accepted on the date of submitted applications and received registration fees. Applications that are received after classes have been filled will be placed on a waiting list.

Additional information, as well as the application, are available at coastal.edu/childdevelopmentcenter. Questions can be directed to 843-349-2629 or chanslik@coastal.edu.
