CCU presents Music on the Lawn series

August 26, 2021

Coastal Carolina University’s Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts presents Music on the Lawn, a bimonthly outdoor concert series featuring faculty, students, and guest artists. The first concert will be held Friday, Aug. 27, at 6 p.m. on the University’s Prince Lawn, with a performance by CCU faculty members from the commercial music and jazz program. This event is free and open to the public, and patrons are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair.

According to Claudia Bornholdt, dean of the Edwards College, the series was organized in recognition of the 20th anniversary of the Edwards College, and the first concert kicks off the yearlong celebration.

“For the 20th anniversary of the Edwards College, we wanted to create a series that would bring together students, faculty, staff, and community members to enjoy outdoor music,” Bornholdt said. “In addition, this series highlights the numerous benefits that humanities and fine arts bring to our lives.”

Concerts will be held every second and fourth Friday throughout the semester and will feature an array of genres and artists.
