Meet the CITO

Abdallah Haddad is the chief information and technology officer (CITO) at Coastal Carolina University.

Haddad has more than 22 years of progressive experience in information technology to support the academic and administrative functions of the university and has played essential and transformative roles in the implementation of many major infrastructure, enterprise and technology initiatives.

Reporting to the provost and executive vice president, he leads CCU’s planning, development, implementation and modification of technology systems, enterprise systems, infrastructure and IT services, to include academic, student and administrative computing as well as application, networking, IT project management and telecommunication services.

Haddad chairs the university’s technology council, serves on the executive and provost councils, and is a member of numerous committees, including university-wide assessment, strategic planning, and emergency management, among others.

He has held various academic and IT roles, including software specialist, computer assisted instruction laboratory supervisor, academic center director, student computing services director, academic computing services director, executive director of ITS as well as an adjunct faculty member.

Haddad is a founding member of the Grand Strand Technology Council and is a voting member of the South Carolina Information Technology Directors Association (SCITDA).
