Darien's Video

If you are a student who is looking to attend a university that will allow you to immediately connect with others, it is worth your time to consider Coastal Carolina University. By his own admission, Darien Mayes came to Coastal as someone who didn’t branch out that much. However, once he stepped on campus his natural friendly personality came out and he was really able to come into his own.

A finance student from Kingstree, S.C., Darien has developed a large network of friends via his involvement in two very social organizations: he is a member of the Coastal Activities Board (CAB) and he is a brother of the Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Business Fraternity. By his involvement in these extracurricular groups, Darien has become a familiar face on campus.

However, he is not just a “familiar face” but a “positive face” as well. Darien encourages fellow students not to give up and to never feel shy about reaching out for help. Upon graduation, Darien wants to serve his country. He plans to either join the Air Force or the Army. For someone who is such a positive influence on campus who wants to do something so selfless once he leaves it, it is not hard to root for Darien.

Darien is a junior.
Darien is from Kingstree, S.C.
