The 2018 Spring commencement exercises will be held on Friday, May 4, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 5, at 8:30 a.m., inside the HTC Student Recreation and Convocation Center. The HTC Center is located on the campus of Coastal Carolina University at 104 Founders Drive. The doors into the HTC Center will open one hour prior to the start of each ceremony. General admission tickets are required for the ceremony, seating is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. The degree groups will be honored at the following dates and times:
Friday, May 4, at 2 p.m.
Friday, May 4, at 6 p.m.
Saturday, May 5, at 8:30 a.m.
During commencement, degree candidates march into the HTC Center, students process with their school, behind the University banners listing the name of the school. This ceremony includes addresses from the president, the chairman of the Board of Trustees, the commencement speaker; honorary degrees are bestowed; and students are officially recognized as graduates of the University.
The ceremony should last approximately one and half hours. Graduates will partake in a Coastal Carolina University tradition as they recess out of the HTC Center and pass through the gauntlet. The gauntlet is a long standing tradition where CCU faculty form a tunnel for students to pass through, enabling the faculty to wish the new graduates luck in their future endeavors. To ensure a quick and safe exit, graduates are urged to make arrangements before commencement to meet family and friends after the ceremony at a designated location.
There will be a live feed of the ceremony available for viewing in the Lib Jackson Student Union Movie Theater for guests who do not have tickets. The Lib Jackson Student Union is located on CCU's main campus at 100 Spadoni Park Circle, next to the bell tower.
Commencement Day Advisory: Heavy traffic on the University's campus is expected throughout the weekend. Please take into consideration that the University will be conducting bag checks at each entrance into the HTC Center.

Fireworks, glassware, bottles, weapons, firearms, signs and other items that could contribute to hazardous conditions are not allowed and will be confiscated.
