From the President

On behalf of Coastal Carolina University, I would like to invite you and your family to attend our 2018 Spring commencement ceremonies, to be held on Friday, May 4 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturday, May 5 at 8:30 a.m. This is the most joyful and momentous occasion of the academic year, and one that will have special meaning as you watch your son or daughter receive a well-earned degree.

On May 4th and 5th, your student will take his or her place in a long procession of Chanticleers, stretching back through the years to CCU's first four-year degree commencement in 1975 and, indeed, back to the day in 1954 when the institution first opened its doors. Commencement serves not only as a tribute to the enduring vibrancy of the Coastal Carolina University family, but also as a powerful symbol of our lifelong worldwide connections as Chanticleers.

This website provides full details about the exciting events planned for May 5th and 6th.

Approximately 4,000 parents, family and friends will be arriving on campus within a short amount of time. In order to secure parking and seating, please plan accordingly. Also, the ceremonies will be broadcasted live on the internet, accessible through this website.

I am proud of the achievements of the Class of 2018, and I look forward to sharing this important and memorable time with you and your family.

Congratulations to the Class of 2018!

David A. DeCenzo, Ph.D.
President, Coastal Carolina University
