Applying for Graduation
Applying for graduation is an important milestone in your academic journey. The information below is to help you understand what you need to complete in order to apply for graduation.
Q: Who is eligible for graduation?
A: In order to be eligible for graduation, you must register for your remaining coursework and:
Meet all course requirements, all "in residence" requirements, and all departmental or program requirements.
Have earned the minimum cumulative GPA on all work attempted at Coastal Carolina University (2.0 for undergraduate; 3.0 for graduate)
Have earned the minimum hours as determined by the degree or certificate (120 earned hours minimum for an undergraduate degree; 30 earned hours minimum for a graduate degree; 12 earned hours minimum for a certificate).
Have a clean Program Evaluation showing a status of "Pending Anticipated Complete' or 'Complete."
If you receive a grade of "I" (Incomplete) for any of your classes for the current term (or have an "I" from a previous term), you must have completed all coursework and turned it into the instructor by the end of your specified graduation term. If not, your graduation application will be denied and will have to reapply for graduation for a future term.
Q: How can I apply?
A: Applicants can apply for graduation via online through WebAdvisor.
Q: Is there a tutorial I can reference?
Q: Where do I need to pay my graduation application fee?
A: You can pay your application fee directly through the online application process through WebAdvisor.
Within the payment portal, there is an option to pay by an electronic check, which does not charge a service fee. However, credit card payments will incur a service fee.
Q: What if I already paid my application fee?
A: The online graduation application process should skip the payment portal if you have already made a payment in the Office of Student Accounts.
If there are any issues with this, you may forward a copy or your receipt directly to Daniel Hucks in the Office of the Registrar so that your application can be updated.
Q: When is the deadline to apply for graduation?
A: Summer 2020 graduates should complete a graduation application no later than Friday, Feb. 7, 2020.
Any graduation application received after this date may be subject to a late fee ($25).
Q: Who should I contact if I have questions?
A: Please email your question to firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit the Office of the Registrar at 222 Baxley Hall (hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays / 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays), or call at 843-349-2019.
