FAQ

How do I know if my son/daughter is graduating?

Your child will need to check their status with either their designated adviser or the Office of the Registrar.

Undergraduate:

To be eligible for graduation, you must meet all course requirements, all "in residence" requirements, and all departmental or program requirements. You must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 on all work attempted at Coastal Carolina University, and have earned the minimum hours as determined by the degree (120 earned hours minimum). If you have received a grade of I (Incomplete) for any of your classes for the current term (or have an "I" from a previous term), you must have completed all coursework and turned it in to the instructor by the end of the term. If not, you will be denied graduation and will have to reapply for graduation for a future term.

Do students have to apply for graduation?

Yes, the first step you need to complete is to meet with your academic adviser. You should discuss your Program Evaluation and any degree and/or program requirements that must be completed before the commencement ceremony of the graduation term you desire. Then applicants must apply for graduation via online through WebAdvisor. After submission of your application, if any information changes (such as mailing address or name changes prior to graduation), please notify the Office of the Registrar and specifically ask that your diploma name and /or mailing address be changed. If any coursework listed on your Degree Certificate changes after submission of your application, please notify your adviser and ask him/her to notify the Office of the Registrar as soon as possible. Applications for Summer 2018 should be submitted no later than February 9, 2018. Any graduation application received after this date may be subject to a late fee.

For additional instructions on applying for graduation online, please view the Online Graduation Application Instructions for Students and the Video Demonstration.
