DISCOVERY SERIES OF STUDENT-LED PROJECTS: GALATEA
This devised work by CCU senior Lizzy Arnold, a B.F.A. in acting major, subverts the tale of Pygmalion and Galatea by telling it from Galatea’s perspective. The piece follows Galatea’s gradual realization of imprisonment and abuse by her male creator, explores the limited freedom of expression she experiences while under his control, and dramatizes her triumphant fight for independence in the face of adversity.
