Accessibility and Disability Services Staff
Please feel encouraged to reach out to the ADS staff should you need help, support, or information regarding accessibility and disability services on the Coastal Carolina University campus.
Accessibility and Disability Services (ADS) at Coastal Carolina University offers support and assistance to current and incoming students with disabilities and chronic health conditions by coordinating and implementing appropriate reasonable accommodations and providing resources and services as they relate to academics, university housing, dining services, and campus activities in accordance with the American with Disabilities Act Amendments Act (ADAAA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act (504).
Equal opportunity is the foundation for success; however, it does not ensure that a disabled person will achieve an identical result or level of achievement as a non-disabled people. An accommodation removes barriers and provides the ability to participate in or benefit from equally.
Within the resources available, ADS functions as a source of information, educational outreach and support, as well as a communication link among individuals with disabilities, faculty and staff, and the university community at large.
Essential to the larger mission of the Coastal Carolina University and the division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Accessibility and Disability Services promotes:
- inclusive physical and digital spaces;
- universally designed physical and digital environments;
- campus culture inclusive of disability and chronic health conditions;
- disability and chronic health conditions as significant aspects of identity.
