Interested in enrolling your child for literacy tutoring?
The majority of our tutors are state-certified teachers who are earning their Master’s of Education in Language, Literacy, and Culture and Coastal Carolina undergraduate students majoring in education. As part of their coursework, our students design customized tutoring plans that develop their tutee’s literacy abilities. The plans our students create are based on your child’s literacy abilities, and our students set specific goals to increase your child’s literacy abilities over the course of a semester. Then, for forty-five minutes to an hour each week during the semester, our students deliver research-based literacy instruction to your child. At the end of the semester, parents/guardians meet with their child’s tutor to discuss the progress their child made, and the Chanticleer Center for Literacy Education (CCLE) mails a report to them about their child’s progress.
A few of our tutors are volunteers from our community who tutor as a way to give back to the community in which they live. Most of these volunteers have been involved with education and have valuable experiences with children. They are committed to making a difference in the lives of our children.
