What research has led to this request?
Based on requirements by the State, students must have 3 credit hours of practicum experience in severe disabilities to complete the additional licensure. Additionally, students have expressed a desire to begin the practicum earlier in the sequence to enhance their knowledge and understanding of working with this population. With this change, students can take a 1 credit practicum earlier in their Junior year, followed by a 2 credit practicum in their senior year.
What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?
This request will enrich students participating in our add on licensure program for severe disabilities by providing multiple opportunities to interact with students with significant disabilities in the educational setting.
What financial costs are associated with this request?
There are no financial costs associated with this request. This is already allocated in faculty loads. No additional fees are requested.
If NO change in cost is anticipated, how is this possible?
There are no financial costs associated with this request. This is already allocated in faculty loads. No additional fees are requested.
