What research has led to this request?
This course change is a companion prerequisite change to the change for PHYS 211/L to have MATH 160 as coreq. instead of prereq. These two changes provide greater ease of access to the 200-level PHYS sequence while still ensuring that students to do progress to more advanced topics in that sequence without the necessary skills in calculus.
What impact will this request have on existing academic programs?
The main impact will be positive. Students outside the major will have greater ease of access to the PHYS 212/L course while also having the necessary calculus skills to be successful.

None.
