STAT 390 Case Studies in Statistics (2)(STAT 316 with a grade of C or better and STAT 318 with a grade of C or better and at least two other 300 level statistics classes with a C or better) Students synthesize information across many statistical methods through case studies. For each case study, students must determine the most appropriate approach to answer the researcher’s questions using statistics. Students present their analysis and conclusions in a series of written and oral presentations. S

What research has led to this request?
This course will prepare students for their capstone project in the new statistics major. Students will gain experience with the typesetting software, public speaking, and synthesizing information across several courses. Students will also gain experience in some key skills needed upon graduation (building a resume and searching for jobs in the field).

This course will support the new statistics major.

None
If NO change in cost is anticipated, how is this possible?
We have recently hired a new faculty member in statistics to support the major. Therefore, the current faculty members will be able to teach the class in their regular load.
