The Real Estate Club Plans Meeting Tuesday, Feb. 21

The Real Estate Club – Coastal Carolina University will meet Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 4:00 p.m. in Room 307 of the E. Craig Wall Sr. College of Business Administration Building. The meeting is open to interested CCU students.

The featured guest speaker will be Susan Bergeron, associate professor of geography in the Department of Anthropology and Geography. Her topic will be Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

She earned both her Ph.D. and M.A.in geography from West Virginia University. She holds an M.A. in History from Syracuse University and a B.A. in History from Duke University.

Susan Bergeron has co-authored book chapters on the Geospatial Web and GIS and geovisualization in the humanities. She was awarded a Ph.D. Dissertation Fellowship from West Virginia University and is a past recipient of the Special Achievement in GIS Award from ESRI.

The Real Estate Club – Coastal Carolina University is open to students who are interested in learning more about Commercial and Investment Real Estate.  Featured guest speakers include individuals who have expertise in various fields of commercial investment and/or real estate who are invited to share their knowledge of the industry and prepare students for real estate related careers with commercial or mortgage banks, insurance companies, private appraisal or consulting firms, real estate developers, property management firms and residential or commercial industrial brokerage offices.

“There is a growing need for employees in private firms and government agencies concerned with developing, appraising, financing and merchandising residential, commercial and industrial real estate,” said Robert F. Salvino Jr., Ph.D. , research economist and associate professor at Coastal Carolina University and associate director of CCU’s Grant Center for Real Estate and Economic Development.  “The information provided by our featured guest speakers will prove valuable in preparing our students for their future careers,” he continued.
