Room Selection 2020-2021
Message about occupancy changes for 2020-2021
Added on June 2, 2020
University Housing is delighted to welcome residents back for the 2020 – 2021 academic year! We are keenly aware of the shared responsibility to keep our Chanticleer community safe. Things may look a little bit different in August, but the heartbeat of Teal Nation will be strong and prepared.
One aspect of changes to come involves an adjustment to resident occupancy, reducing the total number of available bed spaces to increase the number of single bedroom options. Transfer and upperclassmen students will notice that all University Place bedrooms have been transitioned to single occupancy and Gardens’ apartments no longer have triple bedrooms.
Our new first-year students will find our five-bedroom suites in Chanticleer, Tradition, Teal, and Singleton-Young Halls will include at least two single bedroom options, reducing suite sizes to eight. Previously singles were not an available option in these four buildings, therefore the University Housing rates page has been updated to include this option. Additionally, Ingle and Eaglin Halls have reduced all triple occupancy bedrooms and a portion of double occupancy rooms. The additional furniture from the reduced occupancy spaces will remain in the bedrooms.
Please make sure you read through the information carefully to understand the process. Missing a deadline date or a step may affect your room selection.
As a reminder, first- and second-year students are required to live in University Housing (unless approved by University Housing for exemption). Students who do not apply for housing and are required to live on campus will be randomly assigned and billed for a space.
