Community Council

Community Councils serve as the voice for the residents and each residential community has one. You are already a member by living on campus, so never has it been so easy to join an organization. Each Community Council operates differently as it is based on the needs and goals of the residents. The purpose is to facilitate ease of communication among the students, staff, faculty, and administration, to provide needed services for the community, and to implement cultural, educational, and recreational programming to enhance community life.

Your Community Council will have regular meetings where community, departmental and university information will be shared and discussed. Also they plan a variety of social and educational programs for the residents to attend free of charge. Residents can attend any meeting and even run for an officer position. Each Community Council chooses two residents to represent the community to the Residence Hall Association (RHA), which is the umbrella organization for all community councils.

Information about elections and meetings will be communicated to residents on a regular basis throughout the residential community. To learn more about how you can get involved, contact your Community Coordinator (CC).
