Theatre Arts, Concentration in Acting
Designed to prepare future actors for professional theatre, the Acting concentration in the BFA in Theatre Arts focuses on helping you develop the skills and professionalism required for a successful career. The program accepts students who are willing and able to commit to structured, intensive, studio-based training and are searching for a strong acting center to their work both on stage and in front of the camera.
As a BFA acting student, you’ll study eight levels of acting centered on the foundational work of Stanislavski, on-camera technique, vocal technique, movement studies, and script analysis, history, and criticism courses. The program focuses on self-exploration, characterization, and discovery of personal working methods. You’ll be expected to exhibit not only technical and artistic competence but also a broad knowledge of the theatre, sensitivity to artistic style, and insight into the role of theatre in the life of a humanistic society.
