Michelle Garcia is a junior BFA Acting major from New York City. She was raised in a Latine household, and always worked to make a difference and be a leader. After 15 years of New York Catholic school, the golden rule was drilled into her brain: treat others as you would want to be treated. This brought Michelle into the world social justice activism and being a voice for those who couldn’t reach the masses. In everything she does, Michelle continues to speak out against injustices against race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, nationality, and religion. Michelle is hoping her involvement with the DEI Advisory Committee will create a space safe for everyone and that it will spread throughout the rest of the university and beyond.
