The Common Data Set (CDS) initiative is a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and various publishers. Participating institutions are provided with specific criteria for submitting data making comparisons between participating members more meaningful. The CDS information is similar to that found in the University Fact Book, and also includes data from the following areas: student life, annual expenses and financial aid.
