Graduate

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Instructional Technology is a 30 credit 100 percent online program that provides teachers and other professionals advanced training in the utilization and integration of technology to improve teaching practice, learner performance and professional productivity in schools, businesses, government, healthcare, military and other industries. Teaching certification is not required for admission. Certified teachers employed full-time in S.C. public schools are eligible for discounted tuition rates and may also be eligible to apply to the S.C. Department of Education for M-level pay as well as the online teaching endorsement after degree conferral. 

The Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) in Instructional Technology is a 30 credit 100 percent online program designed for teachers and other professionals who have already earned a master's degree (in any discipline) and are interested in extending their abilities to design, develop, implement, evaluate and manage technology to improve teaching and learning in schools, businesses, government, healthcare, military and other industries. Candidates who complete this curriculum will be well prepared for future graduate study at the doctoral level. Teaching certification is not required for admission. Certified teachers employed full-time in South Carolina public schools are eligible for discounted tuition rates and may qualify for M+30 pay after degree conferral. 

The Certificate in Online Teaching and Training is a 12 credit 100 percent online graduate program that provides opportunities for educators and trainers to develop advanced competencies in designing, developing, delivering and managing online learning and performance improvement in education, business, government, healthcare, military and other professions. Teaching certification is not required for admission. Certified teachers employed full-time in South Carolina public schools are eligible for special tuition rates and may be eligible to apply for the add-on Online Teaching Endorsement from the S.C. Department of Education.

The Certificate in Computer Science Education is a 15-credit 100 percent online graduate program that supports the professional development of teachers interested in computer science. The comprehensive standards-based curriculum emphasizes knowledge and skills in computing systems, networking, computational thinking, programming, data analysis, societal impacts, and pedagogical strategies. Prior experience in computer science is not required and the program can be completed in one year. Teaching certification is not required for admission. South Carolina certified teachers who complete the program may be eligible to apply for the computer science add-on endorsement from the S.C. Department of Education.

Undergraduate

The Certificate in Instructional Technology is a 9 credit 100 percent online or hybrid undergraduate certificate program that provides students with opportunities to develop essential skills that leverage technology to improve learning in educational settings. Students will experience best practices in the design and integration of technology-rich instructional activities and materials that accommodate learner variability in face-to-face, blended, and online settings, as well as how to analyze learner-generated data to improve instruction, how to model responsible digital citizenship, and how to facilitate online collaboration. This non-licensure certificate from the college fulfills some undergraduate Core Curriculum and pre-professional education program requirements.
