Patron Rights and Confidentiality
As a member of the American Library Association, the Kimbel Library subscribes to the Code of Ethics of the American Library Association which defines the principles of service, privacy and confidentiality, intellectual freedom and intellectual property rights. In addition, South Carolina Code of Laws, Title 60, Chapter 4 ensures confidentiality of library patrons and patron records.

Internet Use Policy
The Kimbel Library Computer Use policy is in section VIII. of the General Usage - Network and Computing policy (UNIV-150), and states that computers in the library are provided primarily for the use of Coastal Carolina University students, faculty and staff for the purpose of academic research.
Know Your Copy Rights
The Know Your Copy Rights (PDF) brochure outlines practices and suggestions for academic stakeholders who are concerned about copyright and the use of materials in higher education. The brochure gives faculty and teaching assistants tips on using a variety of works in their teaching.
