Steven Bleicher, professor of visual arts, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 2005. He earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Pratt Institute.
He was previously a senior faculty member in the Arts and Humanities Program at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. He has worked and taught at the New York Studio School of Drawing, Painting and Sculpture, the State University of New York, Brooklyn College and Marian College, in addition to serving as assistant dean of the School of Art and Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Bleicher has been a color consultant for Tilson Communications, Staples Inc., and TW Li on a film and cinematography program. More recently Bleicher has been a visiting lecturer and consultant on color psychology. His artwork is widely exhibited both nationally and internationally in numerous solo and group exhibitions.
Bleicher's book "Contemporary Color: Theory and Use," a comprehensive text on color, was published in 2004.
