Barbara A. Ritter, associate professor of management, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 2004. She earned a bachelor's degree from Grand Valley State University, a master's degree from the University of Akron and a Ph.D. in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Akron.
Since joining Coastal's faculty, Ritter has received the Provost's Award for Exceptional Performance in 2006 and the AVX Award for Best Paper in 2007. She serves as committee chair for the College of Business Assessment Committee and for the Academy of Management Teaching Theme Committee.
Her research interests include business ethics and organizational culture, perceptions and legitimacy of organizational leaders, and discrimination and sexual harassment. Her recent publications relevant to these topics appear in The Journal of Applied Psychology, The Journal of Business Ethics, and Human Relations.
