Nicholas W. Twigg, professor of management, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 2006. He earned a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Excelsior University in 1985, an M.B.A. from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1995 and a doctorate of business administration (DBA) from Louisiana Tech University in 2004.
Prior to his academic career, Twigg served in the Nuclear Program of the United States Navy, including extended tours aboard the nuclear-powered aircraft carriers U.S.S. Nimitz and U.S.S. Enterprise as well as the nuclear-powered guided missile destroyers U.S.S. South Carolina and U.S.S. California. He also was engaged in the training and development of personnel in career programs. His transition to civilian life included work facilitating the introduction of Total Quality Management (TQM) at the country's leading High Energy Physics research facilities, including the University of California, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Fermi Laboratory and Brookhaven National laboratory.
He served as editor of the Southwest Academy of Management proceedings and is the editor of the Coastal Business Journal. He serves as a reviewer for several journals and meetings and was selected as an outstanding reviewer for the Academy of Management Organizational Behavior division. Prior to joining Coastal, Twigg served on the faculty at McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La., Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas, and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La.
