Dennis G. Wiseman, associate provost for academics and director of Graduate Studies, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 1974. Wiseman, also a professor of education, earned a bachelor's degree in history from the University of Indianapolis in 1969, a master's degree in secondary education and Latin American history and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Illinois in 1971 and 1974, respectively.
While at the University, Wiseman has served as the dean of the College of Education and the chair of Faculty Senate, the Promotion and Tenure committee and the Core Curriculum Revision committee.
His books include "Effective Teaching: Preparation and Implementation," "Best Practice in Motivation and Management" "The Modern Middle School," "Wondering about Thinking: Thinking About Wondering" and "Teaching at the University Level: Perspectives from the United States and Russia."
His areas of expertise include higher education as well as K-12 education curriculum and instruction.
