Robert Young is interim Associate Provost for Grants and Sponsored Research.
He joined the CCU faculty in 1992 and was previously chair of the Department of Marine Science. He recently was awarded a $96,437 grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to coordinate and support the South Carolina Marine Mammal Stranding Network, an organization charged with responding to marine animal strandings along the South Carolina coast.
Young earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia in 1986 and a doctorate degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1993. He is a former president of the South Carolina Marine Educators Association.
