Brian Bunton, associate professor of physics, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 2007. He earned a bachelor's degree from Clemson University in 2000, and master's and doctorate degrees from Duke University in 2003 and 2007, respectively.
Bunton's research focuses on quantum chromodynamics (QCD), the physical theory that holds the most basic subatomic particles together. He also studies computational models that describe particle interactions. He has also studied lattice gauge theories and other applications of quantum mechanics.
His area of expertise includes theoretical particle physics and nuclear physics.
