William M. Jones, assistant professor of computer science and a native of Conway, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 2008. He earned bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in computer engineering from Clemson University. Jones was previously an assistant professor in the electrical and computer engineering (ECE) department at the U.S. Naval Academy for two years, as well as an adjunct professor in the ECE department at Clemson University and at Tri-County Technical College in the math department.
In addition to traditional computer science courses, he also enjoys teaching computer architecture, digital logic design, FPGA programming and AC/DC circuit analysis.
His areas of expertise include parallel computing, computational grids, job scheduling, performance evaluation and modeling, and discrete event simulation.
