Circadian rhythms, protein phosphorylation and cell division

Michael H. Roberts, dean and professor of biology, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 2007. He earned a bachelor's degree from Union College in 1977, and master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Virginia in 1981 and 1984, respectively.
He is the author or co-author of 21 peer-reviewed scientific publications, and has served on National Science Foundation advisory panels, reviewing grants in the area of Behavioral and Computational Neuroscience. Prior to his arrival at the University, he served as associate dean and acting dean of Arts & Sciences at Pace University in New York.
His research focuses on behavioral and biochemical regulation of biological clocks.
His areas of expertise include the biology of circadian rhythms, the regulation of biological processes by protein phosphorylation, and the regulation of cell division.
