Biography
Vladislav Gulis, assistant professor of biology, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 2007. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Belarus State University in 1995 and a doctorate in biology from Belarus State University and the Institute of Experimental Botany in 1999.

He is the author or co-author of 28 peer-reviewed scientific publications. Prior to his arrival at the University, he served as assistant research scientist at the University of Alabama.

His areas of expertise include the role of microorganisms in carbon and nutrient cycling in aquatic ecosystems and the effects of inorganic nutrients and eutrophication on fungal and bacterial biomass, production and organic matter decomposition.
