Karen Fuss, environmental educator of the Burroughs & Chapin Center for Marine and Wetland Studies, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 2005. She earned an associate's degree from Richard Bland College and a bachelor's degree and an M. Ed. with emphasis in marine science, both from the College of William and Mary.
Karen's major responsibilities include developing, implementing and leading marine science and environmental education programs for precollege (K-12) students and public groups. Additionally, she serves as coordinator of the Coastal Waccamaw Stormwater Education Consortium, a regional collaboration helping local governments meet federal requirements for stormwater education and public involvement.
Her areas of expertise include organizing field workshops and outreach programs centered on marine science, watershed science and/or stormwater pollution topics.
