Statistical mechanics of two-dimensional systems and thermodynamic measures in vacuum and high-vacuum
College of Science
Theresa Burns, associate dean and associate professor of physics, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 1998. She earned a bachelor's degree in physics from New York University in 1998 and a doctorate degree in physics from Utah State University in 1994. She is the author or co-author of many publications, including "Interactive Engagement: How Much Is Enough?," "Science Curriculum Reform for Education Majors" and "Maximizing the Workshop Experience: An Example from the PTRA Rural Initiatives Program."
Her research focuses on thermodynamics of two-dimensional systems, molecular physisorption and science education research.
Her areas of expertise include statistical mechanics of two-dimensional systems and thermodynamic measures in vacuum and high-vacuum.
