Ray Moye, associate professor of English, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 1994. He earned a master's degree from North Carolina State University and a doctorate from the University of North Carolina.

He has published articles on Alfred the Great and Sor Juana Inez de la Cruz. He has also published "Life and Death in the Academy's ER: Faculty in the Writing Center" and "Confessions of A Plagiarist" in Notes on Teaching English, a Georgia-Carolinas College English Association publication.

Moye was awarded the SGA Apple Award for Outstanding Humanities Professor in 2003, 2007 and 2008. He was also awarded the Departmental Award for Best Conference Presentation and the Departmental Award for Best Scholarly Article, both in 1999. He was listed in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers."

His research interests include completing a translation of an edition of Gregory the Great's sixth-century "Liber Regula Pastoralis," based on the insular manuscripts.

His areas of expertise include Old English, Middle English and Early Modern English.
