Frances Terri Sinclair

Frances Terri Sinclair, director of choral activities, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 2005. She earned a bachelor's degree in piano performance from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a master's degree in choral conducting from Florida State University and a doctorate degree in choral conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
During her first year at Coastal, Sinclair was named Distinguished Teacher of the Year by Coastal's Student Government Association.
Her professional experience includes positions as director of choral activities at UNC-Charlotte and UNC-Asheville, a tenure track position on the music faculty at Clemson University, adjunct positions at UNC-Chapel Hill and NC State University, and three years on the music faculty at Sandhills Community College.
Sinclair's students and choirs have been invited to participate in N.C. Honors Chorus and other invitational festivals, and have performed at the Washington National Cathedral and Lincoln Center.
She has published articles in scholarly journals including the Choral Journal and North Carolina Music Educator.
Her areas of expertise include choral music and singing, applied and class voice, choral conducting and choral music education courses.
