P. Richard Martin, associate professor of management, joined the Coastal Carolina University faculty in 2003. He earned a bachelor's degree in industrial technology and a master's degree in industrial education from Western Carolina University in 1973 and 1974, respectively. Martin also earned a master's degree and a Ph.D. in industrial management from Clemson University in 1998 and 2002, respectively.
Martin has more than 25 years of broad-based experience in construction, manufacturing, oil and gas recovery in Middle Eastern and Asian markets implementing supply chain/logistics and project management practices.
His research deals with issues related to integrating information systems and supply chain networks.
His areas of expertise include project management, logistics, materials management, integrating information systems, supply chain networks, procurement and project controls. His interests include project start-ups, turn-arounds, business process improvement and project quality initiatives.
