About Rod O. Gragg
The director of the CresCom Bank Center for Military and Veteran Studies at Coastal Carolina University is Rod O. Gragg, a military historian and the author of more than 20 books on historical topics.
Gragg's work on the Battle of Gettysburg, Covered With Glory, won the James I. Robertson Award as the best Civil War book of the year, and his history of the Battle of Fort Fisher, Confederate Goliath, earned the Fletcher Pratt Award for Civil War History from the New York City Civil War Round Table.
He is a former scholarship recipient of the U.S. Army Military History Institute, has served as an adjunct professor of history and ROTC history instructor at Coastal Carolina University, and is the host and producer of “Military Memoirs,” a regional television program featuring oral history interviews with American veterans.
