This site is for brand-new CCU employees who are setting up their CCU accounts for the first time.

How to set up your new CCU account

Once your new employee hiring paperwork is complete and your employment offer letter is signed, HREO will enter your employee information into the university ERP system, which is called Ellucian Colleague. Within 24 hours of the data entry, your CCU username and email account are created. As a new employee, you will receive your CCU username in the personal email account that was used during the hiring process (on your CCU employment application).

  1. Log in to your personal email account to obtain your CCU username, and proceed to the next step.

  2. Visit the following Microsoft password reset link to set up your CCU account password: https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com
    1. Type your CCU username,
    2. Type the characters in the picture or audio,
    3. and click Next.

  3. Using the radio buttons for the choices provided (see Figure 2), choose a contact method to verify your identity. The verification code would go to your personal email address OR by text OR a phone call to the contact email or phone used on your CCU employment application. Once the radio button is selected, proceed by clicking on the Email, Text, or Call button that becomes visible, and then complete the verification process in the next step.

  4. The next few screens demonstrate the process that occurs when the Email option is selected.
    1. You will see confirmation that a verification code is sent to the personal email address and you should enter that code here (see Figure 3).
    2. Visit your personal email account to collect the verification code (see Figure 4).
    3. Then, return to Figure 3 to enter the verification code and click Next.

  5. Once your verification is completed, you are prompted to create your CCU password on the next screen (see Figure 5).

    Please note the following criteria and minimum requirements for CCU passwords:
    The password must be at least eight characters long and must include characters from at least three of the following categories: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special symbols. Do not use words contained in your username, your name, or your previously used passwords. You can change your password no more than once per 24-hour period.

    Note: Users are required to update Coastal passwords every 180 days.

  6. You will receive an email indicating your CCU password has been reset.

What next?

Try your new password by logging in to your CCU Microsoft Outlook Email to access your new CCU email.

Access the ITS New Employee Tips Guide
  1. Visit the ITS Ticketing System at https://5000.coastal.edu.
  2. Log in to the Information Technology Services organization with your Coastal username and password.
