Coastal gets new coordinator of freshman programs

February 6, 2006

Pat Singleton-Young is the new director of Freshman Transition Programs at Coastal Carolina University.

Singleton-Young will develop and implement new student programs that connect students to the university and engage them in academic and co-curricular life. She will coordinate orientation programs that will begin on freshmen move-in day in the fall and continue through the first day of class each semester. She will also collaborate with colleagues across the campus as CCU develops expanded academic support services, a new freshman seminar course, additional residence hall learning communities and other integrated freshman year programs. Singleton-Young will also develop and implement a Volunteer Services Center that will provide logistical support for many of the volunteer initiatives that are underway at CCU.

Singleton-Young, an alumnus of CCU, has worked on the Coastal staff for 27 years in many different positions including director of Multicultural Student Services. She will continue to provide leadership in the multicultural services area as she assumes additional duties.
