Coastal Carolina University will present a faculty flute recital featuring Amy Tully, instructor of music, on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall of the Thomas W. and Robin W. Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts. The event is free and open to the public but tickets are required.

This performance will feature a wide range of musical styles for flute and piano by composers from around the world. The program will include a sonata by Mexican-American composer Samuel Zyman, pieces by French composer Pierre Sancan and Swiss-born Ernest Bloch. Contemporary American composer, Robert Dick's music will be featured as well as Claude Debussy's "Les Chansons de Bilitis," which was inspired by the controversial poems of Pierre-Felix Louis. Tully will be accompanied by Winifred Goodwin on piano. Goodwin is a pianist for South Carolina Philharmonic of Columbia.

Tully is a doctoral candidate in flute performance at the University of South Carolina, where she also holds the certificate of graduate study in music performance. She earned a master's degree in musicology from Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree in flute performance from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Tully is principal flutist of the Long Bay Symphony and teaches flute and music history at CCU.

Tickets for the performance must be picked up in person from the Wheelwright Box Office Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or 90 minutes prior to the performance at the Recital Hall.
