4 p.m. @ Edwards Recital Hall

Pianist Paul Barnes performs a recital titled “Love, Death, and Resurrection in the Musical Vision of Philip Glass, Franz Liszt, and Ancient Chant.” Barnes’ recordings are broadcast worldwide, and he has been featured four times on American Public Media’s Performance Today and on the cover of Clavier magazine. Inspired by his friend and longtime collaborator Philip Glass, Barnes commissioned and gave the world premiere of Glass’s “Piano Concerto No. 2 (After Lewis and Clark).” Barnes is the Marguerite Scribante Professor of Music at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln Glenn Korff School of Music and has released 12 CDs, including New Generations: The New Etudes of Philip Glass and Music of the Next Generation (2016).
